Christmas Cupcakes

11 Dec

What could you possibly make out of a square of fondant, with a circle cut out of the middle of it?

If you paint it with some gold luster dust and then add it to a larger circle of red fondant (that you’ve painted a black stripe on using food coloring)….

You can get a nice little cupcake topper with a Santa belt. πŸ˜€

It’s easy to make lots of different kinds of cupcake toppers using a few small, Christmas themed cookie cutters and luster dust. I love how shiny this stuff is. πŸ˜€

These were gingerbread cupcakes with cream cheese frosting that I made to take to a party at church. The pretty wrappers were a gift from my mother in law.

Overall, I was very happy with how they turned out! If you’ve never used fondant before but want to give it a try, start with something like this. Being able to make the designs from the cookie cutters makes it non-intimidating. Even if you are a fondant-beginner. πŸ˜€

Up next: Not sure, but I’m sure it will be something Christmas themed!

Random thought of the day: One more full week of school, then a very short week of a day and a half. Can’t believe how close Christmas is!!!
